First Two Weeks of My Phase II Teaching Practice
I have got K.P.M.H.S Krishnapuram for my Phase II teaching practice. The first two weeks of my Phase II Teaching Practice started from 18-6-2024 to 2-7-2024. We had already collected our portions on 10-6-2024 . We were two students from our college for teaching practice at Krishnapuram school. It started from June 18th 2024. On the first day I was little bit tensed because of the new atmosphere. It was a nice experience for me. I had concern about the new teachers and the students behaviour towards me. But I became comfortable when I interacted with them. The Head Mistress, teachers and other staffs of the school behaved well with me. I was assigned with 8 A class for teaching. When I first entered the class, the students seems to be interesting and interactive and they started listening and enjoying my teaching. After one week the students became more and more attentive.
The first two weeks went well for me. The days went very fast. I taught 8 A and 9 C students very well. The students appreciated my teaching and they were well behaved with me. I felt that they were very interested in my class. During the substitution periods, the students calls me to enter their class for teaching. I got more periods for teaching them and the portions were taught fastly. I was able to create a good rapport with the students and teachers of the schools. The teachers were very supportive and they were very friendly towards me. The first two weeks went very fastly. I felt like like days were running. We were also instructed to complete the portion quickly. I felt little tensed when they asked to finish the portion quickly. But later I understood that it was not a herculean task as the students were very cooperative and they learned things very well.
It was heavy raining these two weeks. During morning and evening time students felt difficult to come school and went back to home. On 26-7-2024, as the day was observed as International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Kerala Police along with the NCC team of the school arranged an awareness class against drug abuse and illicit trafficking at Mahalekshmi Auditorium, Naruvammood. I found that the school should have a proper drainage for the disposal of the rain water. On 1-7-2024, the students from class 9 went to NCC Camp which was conducted on Pangode, Trivandrum. During this week, I was able to teach my students with an innovative work "Verb Popcorn". The students were very interesting in learning verbs with the help of verb popcorns. I taught them by giving actions and practical examples for verbs.
The two weeks went quickly by realizing me that I am a passionate teacher and I am so happy for that hoping that I could do my best for the coming weeks also.
